California Budget Project:
The California Budget Project (CBP) serves as a resource to
the media, policymakers, and state and local constituency
groups seeking accurate information and analysis of a range
of state policy issues. Through independent fiscal and
policy analysis, public education, and collaboration with
other organizations, we work to improve public policies
affecting the economic and social well-being of low- and
middle-income Californians.
The California Institute for Federal Policy Research:
Policy research and information on state and federal policy.
Extensive links to California specific web sites, including
public policy organizations, government agencies, and
statistical information.
Center on Budget And Policy Priorities: Policy analysis
on a range of federal tax and budget issues.
Citizens for Tax Justice: National advocacy group for
fair taxation. Includes downloadable spreadsheets and good
tax links.
The Electronic Policy Network: Includes links to a
number of national organizations with an interest in public
policy. A good way to keep tabs on current policy debates.
Economic Policy Institute: Seeks to broaden the public
debate about strategies to achieve a prosperous and fair
economy.
Legal Services of Northern California: Site includes
quick web links for legal, media, and policy research as
well as a wealth of other links.
Center for Law and Social Policy: A national nonprofit
organization with expertise in both law and policy seeking
to improve the economic security of low-income families with
children and secure access for low-income persons to our
civil justice system.
UCLA Center for Health Policy Research: An outstanding
source of information on health policy and the uninsured.
Welfare Information Network: A clearinghouse for
information, policy analysis, and technical assistance on
welfare reform. "Fast access to the national information and
expertise needed for policy development, program design and
implementation, and program evaluation."
Public Policy Institute of California: In-depth,
California-specific policy research on topics ranging from
public finance to immigration.
The Urban Institute: Access research and policy briefs
in health, safety net, and other policy issues.
Children Now:
Children Now is a research and action organization dedicated
to assuring that children grow up in economically secure
families, where parents can go to work confident that their
children are supported by quality health coverage, a
positive media environment, a good early education, and
safe, enriching activities to do after school.
UC Berkeley Labor
Center: The Labor Center is an outreach arm of the
University of California at Berkeley. Founded in 1964, our
mission is to improve the lives of working people by linking
the University's vast resources to labor and community
efforts for social and economic equity. |
